Remote Backup Systems has been powerering successful Online Backup services since the late 1980s. Our Service Provider Edition is designed around the needs of commercial online backup service providers and their clients.
Our 22 years in the business, and our close association with more than 8,500 service providers gives us a unique view of the industry from the pennacle of the online backup business and its technology. When you install our software on your servers, you can be sure that you have the best avalaible platform from which to launch your successful service.
Our most popular licensing program for Online Backup Service Providers is our Perpetual License program. This is where you buy a perpetual license for an RBS Server and multiple RBS Clients. This program allows you to use the software forever, without paying RBS any more mandatory fees. (Most Service Providers decide to keep their Maintenance Subscription in force, but the software will run without it.)
Client licenses are maintained automatically by the RBS Server, and are automatically recycled. So, if one of your customers drops your service, simply erase his/her account at your RBS Server, and it will be recycled for re-use at no charge. You can service as many clients as you have licenses for. Additional Client licenses can be purchased and provisioned immediately (during business hours) by RBS.
An Online Backup service is perfect for companies who have bandwidth and server resources that go mostly unused at night, when most Online Backups are done. The RBS Servers have light footprints, so they use few resources, even when fully loaded. RBS Servers can service hundreds or thousands of clients simultaneously.
The RBackup Server runs on Windows. For applications requiring 250 clients or more, we recommend the latest Windows Server operating system. RBS Servers use only one CAL, regardless the number of clients. For fewer than 250 clients, and for our Business and Personal Editions, the RBackup Server will run on Windows XP Pro.
